For this Look I’ve been inspired by… basically, my wardrobe. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the type of Outfit I wear when my two-racks of wall covering closet rails are giving me NOTHING. What you’re seeing here are a few of my all-time favourite pieces of the season. Actually, by taking a closer look, I’d say every single one is an all-time fav. Except for the hat, which was a present and represents me jumping up very late on the train of bucket hats and their comeback since the 1900s.
Okay well, they may already did a comeback in the 1960s country fashion for their practical purposes—mainly, keeping the rain away from the head. But that was also when the bucket hat became an accessorize for the ⁓ ladies ⁓. And later, for Indiana Jones.
Back to 2021—we are seeing bucket hats now for more than two years again, and I couldn’t quite get myself into this trend (before). Last winter was the time when I took one, two, or three in the shops and put them on my head (still joking about them). Now one of my family members sorted out their wardrobe and shortly before throwing this lovely piece of wool in the trash I jumped before them and shouted “NOOO”. It wasn’t quite this dramatically, but I saw the chance, took it, and didn’t regret it since (the aftermath).
It really spices up a look by making something actually rather casual looking more sophisticated. That at least goes for the wool-blend bucket hats. You could also really slow down a very sophisticated look by adding a bucket hat in… let's say, a vinyl fabric (Now I want one like this. Damn it.). Plus—it really keeps the rain away from your hair, which in Germany, comes in quite handy at the moment.
What you can’t see are the tights I put underneath to keep the booty warm and cozy, even while strutting through the rain.
Let's go to the rest of the pieces—we see chunky boots, a cropped wide-leg jeans, a flowery blouse, a cropped knitted halterneck shirt underneath, a beige teddy jacket on top. Deliciously added are a three-part necklace plus statement earrings and a small Croco-handbag. What you can’t see are the tights I put underneath to keep the booty warm and cozy, even while strutting through the rain.
Well, it’s a lot of mix and match of fabrics and patterns here. It works because we have a consistent colour-scheme going on. I paired earthy colours in the blouse, the jacket and my make-up with blackish colours on the other parts of the outfit. We all know that black goes well with almost everything, and it is just so lovely easily to pull off. The clear beige of the jacket breaks up the darker tones and adds some contrast. So does the golden jewelry.
2021 still is for loose silhouettes. No one wants to be restricted by their fashion while quarantining, so I just ended up leaving the blouse untucked, just buttoned one hole, to make the blouse itself more visible, but comfy and bit ⁓ nonchalant ⁓. The necklace compliments the looseness of the blouse and the trousers with that. The earrings on the other hand sparkle a little more glam and bring the eyes of… I was about to say your counterpart, but as we are seeing no one nowadays I rather opt for your mirror reflection or your Instagram followers… Anyway. They bring the sight right to your pretty face.
There you go, lovely, comfy, and we still put a tiny bit of glam in here.
