Sweatdrippin hello to you, you precious beast
This week we’re keeping it as I love it – quick and dirty. Momma is going for a little weekend vacation in the noname-lands of Germany for a little camping trip. Yes, you read it right. It is camping and not glamping. Discovering the wild side of me, once again. No, jk, I’m not that much of a spoiled bitch. Just a little. Nvm, what I’m trying to say is – momma is taking a weekend trip and since momma still needs to pack clean the flat, write you a decent blog post, and most important – think about some banger looks for the weekend that are going to blow the browsing cow’s and hillbilly’s minds, we’re keeping it short and easy today. (Oh, sweet timemanagement! Is it really time to meet you again?)
As short and easy as this post is going to be, is the look this week. Some of you might remember one of the first posts – The Go To. Not my all-time craziest look, but one that always works. So is this one here. Summer finally definitely arrived in Germany and I can’t stand anything that covers my body more than needed, once the thermometer hit’s more than 20° Celsius.
Therefore, jeans shorts are my favourite companion in summer. Jeans, because of my deep love for denim. Just like me and your personal most beloved pub, denim is classic but a bit rough, a bit dirty. That makes it the perfect fabric for almost everything. Not, that I didn’t tell you this about 20 times already on this blog. But I just can’t stop myself when it comes to versatile clothing. Especially the ones, that tone down a look. I often have the problem that I think a look is too business-y, too chic. Switching pants for jeans always solves this one.
Together with the jeans I paired a flowery shirt, that is tied and cut-out in the back. One of the two pieces I own, that have flowers on them. Actually not quite my vibe, but every now and then, and especially on the first summer days where the world feels like the air is filled with every lyric of every Lana Del Rey Song ever written, I do decide for this flowery boy. I don’t like flower prints all too much, because they make (almost!) everything instantly girly – and in my controversial opinion, basic. I liked this one because it at least brings in an interesting component through the cut-out and tied back, just as well as the flowy arms.
Nevertheless, all alone this baby would look still too basic. Therefore, I added the shredded jeans, just as well as some tennis socks and my classic Reebok’s. The combo of socks and sneakers makes up for the dad-vibish-casual-look. On top, I added a few gold chains, which break up the girly imagery that the top could emphasize. In my opinion, it could’ve been even more chains, but I’m always struggling to find pretty jewelry, so I just go with what I have. I mean, this is a “Go-To”.
To give the look a bit of summer-playfulness back, I added some yellow-tinted glasses and did my hair up in a half-bun.
Et voilà! A very easy, still lovely, summer look. Now for a short and quick Yoko-Drip-Tip: Get yourself some tinted sunglasses. Firstly, they make your surroundings look as dipped in a filter, which is pretty much fun. With those yellow ones here, everything looks like Mexico. Secondly, they step up an outfit in an instant. Just as with colourful shoes or bags, it’s just that nice little pop of colour, that sometimes makes the most of a look.
Now next week we hopefully see us a lil bit more crisp again. ‘Til then –
