Hey there my funky fashion beans,
already the last week of the autumn edition! Don’t know about you, but for two weeks I certainly arrived in autumn mood. She is barely leaving her snuggles and with snuggles I mean my house, blanket and cat. Things are getting cozy and I love everything about that. So what I did last week was inviting my friends over and watch Sex and the City for probably the 320293 time. Ok, and I also started watching other people play Cyberpunk because deep down my fash as fuck heart, I am a nerd and I love everything about that.
Well, for the not so cozy occasion, where you have to leave the house, you want to look stunning, nonetheless. Therefore the final autumn look - and today there is no trend-reference I am calling upon, it is just my personal interpretation of what I like to wear currently. So let’s keep this article a bit shorter than the last, and take a look.
The eyecatcher in this look for sure is the coat. I bought it lately at my favourite Vintage store in Hannover, Elfie&Ignaz (go and take a visit if you haven’t already, its the most beautiful shop with the most lovely owner and besides always feeling super well taken care of customerwise, I am never leaving this delicious shop without a new treasure for my closet. Ok and 99% of the time a glass of champagne because you get drinks there, too. Could a Vintage shop be any better? I. DOUBT. IT.
Back to the fashion - Eyecatcher, oversized Teddy Coat with a large checkerboard pattern. The pattern itself doesn’t even matter that much, but its the statement that the coat sets.
So what I’d recommend to you, if you want to recreate the look, go for a daring coat. It might be bright pink, or have a funky pattern like mine does, or an interesting fabric, just go for something that is not dark blue cotton (not that there would be anything wrong with that, just if you want to have the little extra sazzle and dazzle, you can be a bit more audacious.)
Underneath the coat, I am wearing a very short cropped blouse, which is tied in the front and has a string around the back. This shirt isn’t necessarily made for salary negotiations aka the office, but rather for a night out.
It somehow mimics a cheeky take on Y2K Fashion, but with a decorous take. I love it. It resembles me as a person. Always wanting to combine street style with classy fashion, which most of the time ends in opting for one of them, but pieces like these let me combine it. Huh, glorious.
Next up are the wide leg pants. Actually, those are wide-legged to the bottom. I just shove them down my boots. Ok, not quite, i tied them in the back a little below the height where my boot ended and then turned the rest inside. That way you generate yourself harem/turkish trousers in a second.
I actually think they also go in the same direction as cargo pants, which are, as mentioned in the last article, somewhat of a big Fall22 trend, too.
The last stop are the boots. Oh. These. Boots. I am in Boot heaven, what shall I say. I was looking for such boots for probably two years, and finally found ones my size. You actually get this kind of platform boots almost everywhere, but with me, wearing a 42/43, we’re getting more problems buying shoes in the women's section than… yeah, probably not even big foot has as many problems as I do with that. Finally shot them on ASOS.
Who always reads these long paragraphs knows that I like to keep balance in my looks and that balance is the key to every banging outfit, in my opinion. Here we are keeping balance with two things
1. The colours - perfectly balanced out black and whites, so easy.
2. The shape. Oversized pants and coat - tight shirt and boots. Vóila. That my friends is why it works.
Accessorywise I naturally went for my sunglasses, because no matter how dark it might get, I wear my sunglasses at night, as Corey Heart sang so beautifully in his 80’s bop. Yeah and I just love the good old “I don't give a fuck about aaaAAAanYthinG”-Attitude sunglasses always bestow.
For jewels I opted for two big statement necklaces that I wore as bracelets and as a bag, I opted for a vintage leather fanny pack, which supports the combat look of the pants.
See here, another day, another slay.
Next week it might get a little more silent around here because momma is going on holidaaaay! Reviving the last summer cells of my body on the pool in Spain.
Visit Elfie & Ignaz, Watch Sex and the City (the 9384394839 time), listen to Sunglasses at Night AND play Cyberpunk because it is let alone for the aesthetics worth watching.
