19 December 2021
Hello my little elves and reindeers,
pack your tights, red lipstick and nailpolish - we are driving home for Christmas.
The 24th of December is nearing and we should slowly start to think about what is dressing us on this glistening night. I’m beyond excited for my most beloved and favourite time of the year. Therefore I couldn’t send you in the holidays with just one look - so I created three possible Christmas looks - the elegant one, the dressy one, the casual one.
Take a look, get inspired, get jolly.
This Look is for the ones of you, who want to dress up a little, but not be too over the top. It’s got the basic dressy elements - some smart (short) trousers plus a red blouse. Since trousers and blouse built a nice base, we can spice things up here a bit, to get the look more interesting. I did that by adding a snake-printed scarf and tucking it into my pants. Plus point - your neck won’t freeze, grandma will love that. I also paired the look with some knee-high boots, to elongate the legs and add even a bit more sass and cheek.
This Look is for the ones of you, who REALLY want to go all-in with their look - and by that I mean, for the ones of you who want all the heads turned around when you’re crossing the doorstep. While it is actually the most simple base of all - a black slip dress - I added a black vintage poncho (thanks again, F. Cutest birthday present. XX). The poncho keeps you warm, a big advantage already, but since the shoulders are padded, it also adds an interesting shape. Very important with this look is the make-up and jewellery - since it is an all-black look, we want to add colour somewhere. I did that via the red lipstick and the big, golden jewellery.
This Look is for the ones of you, who don’t want to change out of their tennis socks but also prevent explaining themselves to their moms why they didn’t dress nicely. It is the perfect balance between comfy and dressy. Here I paired a simple dark-green wool pullover with some (very) wide leg dressy pleated pants. Underneath the pants you can see my tennis socks peeking out of the black loafers. An important step to make this look elaborate is some chunky jewellery. Christmas fortunately is the best time to unpack your chunky jewels. If you want to keep it a bit more edgy, just pair them with your usual chains, like I did here.
Here are some Last Minute Gift Ideas:
Now I wish you all the happiest, jolly, calm, beautiful and tasty Christmas! Thank you for (almost) a year on this funny blogging-journey with me. Big hugs and kisses to everyone who gave me a nice word on my work, who looks at this every two weeks (or rather: who looks at it by the funny schedule I set up in my head *cough* - time management is on my list of improvement for 2022), also hugs and kisses to everyone who took even the slightest bit of inspiration or courage for themselves out of what I’m doing and showing here. There is barely something that fills me with as much joy as someone stepping up to me and telling me they felt brave enough to wear something, because I showed it on my blog. Didn’t only happen one time this year, and I’m so happy, proud and could cry big, glittering tears of joy when I hear something like that.
Stay as beautiful as y’all are!!! BIG LOVE
