Hello my handsome internetfriends,
This weeks post might deviate a little from my usual posts. We probably don’t get thaaat much of fashion inspiration but rather a little eyecandy. And with eyecandy I mean you’ll see me dancing around in front of the sea! No, my hometown Hannover, unfortunately, didn’t suddenly moved to be a town at the sea. I am writing this Saturday evening, sipping on my second Lillet, at Lübeck. A funny little town pretty close to the baltic sea. “What she doin there??” you might ask yourself. I took the very rare chance to see a very close friend of mine, who unfortunately had to move away last year. All tested and every possible precaution taken, don’t you worry or get mad, I’m not stupid. At least I try not to be. Mostly. Hehe.
Well but that is the reason why we are seeing a bit of ocean content this week. I for sure tried to look as flattering as possible, not letting you down all the way. But this look might not be appropriate for all the usual occasions.
So, next to the pretty sea, which I’m sure will get all your attention this week instead of me anyway, we see an almost all-black look. I am talking you through the pieces, and what I usually would wear them with.
On the very top, we see a black Trenchcoat, that I belted. I did this in another post too, as I like to this with this boy (the trench) because it is very oversized. On such large pieces, you’re creating interesting shapes when tying them together, because they get a bit out of control, once you’re trying to give them shape. So don’t let your head hang loose when something doesn’t completely turn out the way you expected when “transforming” some piece of clothing. The intended shape doesn’t necessarily have to be the only one that works. So, back to the piece. For sure we are enhancing the waist with the belt, but it’s mainly the interesting form that I like to wear this for. With this I mean the bulky arms and the expanding hip. Also, putting a belt on a coat just is another interesting accessory, when you’re not wearing a whole lot of other jewelry. And if this is not the first post you’re reading, you know I love my fashion decoration.
Jewellery-wise the only other supplements we have are golden hoops, that you can barely make out under my sea-twirled hair. The more visible second part are the sunglasses. Not to be missed, on a sunny day like this. And just in general. We all look ten times sassier with sunnies. Here I’m wairing my currently deeply beloved 90’s-dad-sunnies.
Underneath the Trenchcoat I wore *insert dramatic drum roll here* - a sports bra! No, it is not a crop top. Currently I really like to pair black sports bras. They are so heavenly understatement, go all along with the sport-influenced fashion these days, are for sure comfortable and they pair great with EVERYTHING. Well, I wouldn’t say everything, but mostly everything. You can wear them underneath dresses, if you don’t want to show your pretty cleavage, you can wear them as a crop top as I do, together with possibly every trouser, underneath a shirt that you didn’t buttoned all the way up, … I could go on a while. What I mean to say is – a lot of (very comfortable) opportunities.
Next, and probably the most eyecatching piece this week, are the trousers. Those are narrow-pleated-wide-leg-trousers. And with wide leg, I mean WIDE LEG. I could probably build a tent and sleep in these legs. That is indeed the reason I chose them for the shoot. They flow magically around your legs in the wind, making them legs look, and making yourself feel, splendid. I wore these to a few occasions, mostly rather “chique” ones because they are made of a satin-like fabric. My friends are lovingly calling them my “evening-trousers” and that sums up the occasions quite well. Birthdays, parties, etc. Basically, any situation where you want to look fancy. They are quite showstopping because they make you seem like you’re wearing an evening gown. Only on the downer half. Why do I love them so much? Because we love ourselves a good evening dress, but we do love ourselves the power of trousers and a fancy, sumptuous seeming one even more. But on another note – they performed very well on the beach, either.

I usually would pair this look with a smarter shoe, than the sneakers I’m wearing in a few of the pictures here. A heel would make this look instantly put together. Maybe in an interesting colour and then a matching couloured handbag. The sneakers on the other side are making it a bit more casual and day-to-day-wearable. I also really like the break they do against the lavish trousers. But hey, you do you.
So, even when not being in town, I’m not letting down on this weeks Yoko-Drip-Tip:
Again, very simple and something you might have already took into consideration for yourself by now, but if so, take it as a sign: Do day trips.
For sure, this depends on where you’re at, money, and possibilities of transportation, and so on and so on. But if it is only swinging yourself up on your bike and driving a few km to a pretty spot in your town, just do it. I noticed how good this 3 hours beach trip was as a break from staring at my (pretty indeed, but quite boring after 1 ½ years) walls. It just sparks a bit of delight, because you’re seeing that the world around you still exists, and let me tell you, it distracts you from our sometimes saddening daily news. And if you’re planning a few days ahead (honestly, I wouldn’t do more, either) you finally have something to look forward to, too.
So, enough said. See you next week handsome!
